We want to improve the quality of the products we sell in the U.S. market

We outsource the production of many skin care products to OEM manufacturers in East Asia. However, we sometimes encounter problems with variability in quality. For example, we discovered that some of the products we received were of poor quality. In some cases, we were unable to sell the products, despite having paid for them. We therefore want to manufacture these products again, at a different production facility. Since so many people are already using this particular product, we want to ensure that the product is manufactured consistently to have the same texture and fragrance.

Solution

Facelabo developed a facial cleanser, serum, cream, and other products, which the client had previously commissioned to be made by an East Asian OEM manufacturer, based on the benchmarks we received from this client. In addition to producing ready-made products, we also proposed various beauty ingredients to improve the products. After a series of improvements and adjustments to the texture and fragrance intensity, we ended up creating a formula that the client was very satisfied with.

Consequently, rather than simply reproducing an existing product, we were able to upgrade it. The packaging was renewed, and the item was sold as a new product. The client expressed great appreciation for the added value we provided and for the consistently high quality of the products we delivered.

We want to produce skincare cosmetics using local, traditional herbs to differentiate ourselves from our competitors

Request

In our country, skin care products made with turmeric, a traditional herb here, are very popular. However, due to the severe competition in this market space, we would like to create a unique “Made in Japan” face cream based on traditional botanicals.

Solution

Although the client wanted to use the traditional herb in the formula, they also wanted a fragrance that was similar to that of its existing product. This is because that fragrance has become popular in the local markets they are targeting. To fulfill this request, we obtained a formulation benchmark from the client and gradually developed a satisfactory fragrance through a trial-and-error process. After we developed a suitable face cream formula, we added herbal extracts and skin beautifying ingredients. Like this, we managed to create a “Made in Japan” face cream featuring traditional local herbs. Thanks to our success in offering a high-quality product that stands out from the client's competitors, this item has become an important staple in the client's product line. As a result, we have enjoyed repeat orders.

We want to produce supplements that distinguish us from the competition

Request

In Thailand, a variety of traditional herbal and U.S.-made health supplements are available, but we want to offer products that stand above the competition. We would also like some help with obtaining approval from the Thai FDA.

Solution

At the Facelabo factory, we manufacture tablets, hard capsules, soft capsules, and granules. Since there are few facilities in Southeast Asia capable of manufacturing soft capsules, our ability to develop soft capsule supplements presented a significant opportunity to the client company. The client was very interested in this idea.

Next, we met with the client to determine what kind of supplement they wanted to make, with what ingredients. Since the Thai FDA applies strict restrictions to formulas, we communicated very closely with the client to make sure that the formula would comply with applicable FDA regulations. We also arranged all the documentation needed for FDA approval and supported the client in the FDA approval processes, as and when requested. Of course, we also manufactured and exported the product after it was finally approved. The client was very grateful for the support we provided over the entire process, from securing FDA approval to importing the product.
